Gladiators Unite on ‘Scandal’ While Creating Chaos at the White House
It seems like Mr. Peus and Miss Ruland have been running things for a while on Scandal, but on Thursday’s episode, the tables were finally turned. Olivia took back control by creating chaos at the White House.
Miss Ruland was visiting President Grant with President-elect Grant to discuss the transfer of power when the Secret Service and other armed guards rushed in and escorted everyone to safety. All the commotion was the result of a drone in the airspace around The White House. And while Miss Ruland and Abby were escorted to a windowless room, everyone else was rushed to an office where Olivia, Jake, and the gang were waiting. Mellie was, understandably, confused and demanded an explanation. Olivia explained, “The drone is ours, Madame President-elect. We’re running a play in order to take you back.”
Because Mr. Peus and Miss Ruland had been running the show (they made Jake step down as VP so Peus could take the position), everyone came together to fight back. They even brought in Papa Pope to play along, although the boys had trouble not fighting each other. First, Rowan and Fitz almost got into it, and then Cyrus and Rowen almost killed each other.
In the end, Mellie decided she was going to fight back and announced Luna Vargas as her new vice president. Meanwhile, Olivia visited Miss Ruland and had her handcuffed, telling her, “You can’t take Olivia Pope. Olivia Pope takes you.”
