Curious about what Robin Roberts has up her sleeve? Well, she just revealed a major update on a really cool project, and fans are going to be thrilled.

The Good Morning America host is known for being the founder of the Rock'n Robin Productions company, which produces powerful storytelling content. Well, back in March, she announced her latest project that'll air on the Lifetime network, and it is a biopic film telling the story of iconic singer Gloria Gaynor.

Now, Robin is sharing more details on the upcoming movie thanks to an announcement from Deadline. According to the article, Tony Award winner Joaquina Kalukango and Lance Gross are set to portray Gloria and her husband Linwood Simon in the film. What's more, the outlet noted the movie is set to air in 2025 as part of the network's "Voices of a Lifetime" film slate.

Shortly after the news broke, Robin shared her thoughts on Instagram. "Thrilled to announce our leads @joaquinakalukango @lancegross for our upcoming @lifetimetv @gloriagaynor biopic!" she wrote on October 30. "More to come on this exciting project."

Naturally, fans were excited.

"This is fantastic!!! Great cast right here - wow!!" one person exclaimed in the comments. "I AM READY! Love these biopics being made. Seems like I need to do a deep dive on this icon soon ??," another agreed. "Love it!! Can’t wait to see it!"

For those curious about Joaquina and Lance's backgrounds ahead of the movie, Joaquina won the 2022 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her work as Nelly O'Brien in Paradise Square. She also portrayed Esme in Lawmen: Bass Reeves, currently streaming on Paramount+. Lance's acting credits include playing Calvin Payne on Tyler Perry's House of Payne, a role which has won him four NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

As for how the cast feels about starring in the biopic, Joaquina shared heartfelt words on Instagram. "What an honor and blessing to tell this living legend's story!!!" she wrote. "This one is for the books! ????????."
