'GMA's Lara Spencer Gives Candid Glimpse Into Special Family Celebration at Home
Lara Spencer of Good Morning America seemed to have a great weekend with her extended family, inviting fans into a special moment as she showed off new photos.
Spencer updated fans on Instagram, writing, "It was months in the making and we pulled it off! What a special birthday celebration for the queen of our family. We love you mom."
The big event was in honor of Spencer's mother Carolyn Von Seelen's birthday, with everyone dressed up and enjoying the nice weather in her honor. In the photos, Von Seelen, Spencer, her two kids Katharine and Duff, her husband Richard McVey and more family members posed for sweet photos in a beautiful yard. Spencer's father and Von Seelen's husband, Richard Ernest Von Seelen, passed away in 2011.
It looked like everyone had a great time at the birthday bash, and fans shared best wishes for the family matriarch as well.
"Awesome picture. Your mom looks great," wrote one such fan, as more chimed in, "What a wonderful celebration!! Happy Birthday, Carolyn!!!!??," and "Love this! Mom looks fabulous! ??."
Another commented on all the hard work that went into the party, writing to Spencer, "Whatever it took was worth it ??."
Spencer and her family might've been in Connecticut for the family gathering, as the TV anchor shared some photos the day before showing her mother supporting her on the tennis court.
She wrote alongside the photos, "3 sets and 2 tiebreaks, but we pulled it out!!! I am certain it was thanks to my lucky charm sitting courtside!!!! Thanks for coming mom! Sorry it took so long! Hope you enjoyed our post match tradition ????."
The mother-daughter duo smiled brightly while sitting on a bench together, with Spencer wearing an all-white tennis outfit as Von Seelen had on a bold pink and orange striped dress.
