Godwin, and his Beaver County band, get love from Rolling Stone and 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Things keep taking off for Charles Wesley Godwin and his Beaver County backing band.

Monday night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" finished with a rousing performance by Godwin and his band, The Allegheny High, playing their rocking country song, "Cue Country Roads."

The ABC show's cameras mixed close-ups of Godwin with wider angle shots where organist Max Somerville, lead guitarist Al Torrence, and bassist Nate Catanzarite ? all of Beaver County ? were shown in action. Fellow Beaver County-ites Joe Pinchotti (drums) and Eric Dull (guitar) were clearly visible in the background, too.

Later that day, Rolling Stone magazine posted a profile article about Godwin, a 30-year-old Morgantown, W.Va., native, describing a recent North Carolina show where he "turned to the five members of the Allegheny High ? the band he calls his 'ride or die' ? in a manner more befitting a football coach before a game than a lead singer.

"'Let's go out there and have fun, man,' he shouted, his voice booming off the concrete walls. 'There's no pressure, so let's get out there and rip it!'

"Then, Godwin and Co. went onstage and ripped it," Rolling Stone said. "An hour-long set that began with 'Cue Country Roads.'"

This past November, Godwin and the Allegheny High made their network TV debut, performing three of their alternative-country originals on "CBS Saturday Morning."

Godwin and his band will open 12 stadium shows this year for country star Luke Combs, whose fame has skyrocketed since his Grammy Award-nominated cover of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car."
