The Paris 2024 Olympics are here, and Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars premieres in September. The two things might not be related, but as we’ve seen in the past, there’s a direct pipeline from the Olympics to the dance competition show. So, with another season of Dancing With the Stars premiering right after the Olympics, that gives just enough time for some Olympians to go straight from Paris to the competition. The question is, which Olympians could be on Dancing With the Stars Season 33?

Katie Ledecky, Swimming
Ledecky is widely regarded as the best female swimmer of all time and one of the best Olympians ever. So why Dancing With the Stars? Well, there’s precedent. Simone Biles, widely considered the best gymnast of all time and one of the best Olympians ever competed on Dancing With the Stars Season 24. And Ledecky, who goes into Paris 2024 looking to add to her already impressive 10 Olympic medals, 7 of which are gold does love winning therapies.
Jordan Chiles, Gymnastics
A member of Team USA’s gymnastics team alongside Simone Biles, Chiles also represented the US at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and won a silver medal in the team event. If picked, she could follow on the great tradition of gymnasts making it far on Dancing With the Stars. Shawn Johnson won Season 8, Alexandra Raisman made it to the finals in Season 16, Laurie Hernandez won in Season 23 and Simone Biles came in fourth in Season 24.

Ilona Maher, Rugby
Rugby might not be as popular a sport, particularly outside of the Olympics, but Maher has become a social media superstar, with over a million followers on TikTok, where she has been posting regularly from Paris 2024. It’s just the kind of thing that would go over well in the dancing competition, particularly because Maher already knows how to win over not just a literal crowd, but a digital one.
Sha’Carri Richardson, Track and Field
Richardson is without a doubt a star, and she aims to show it at the Paris 2024 Olympics. After the Olympics, a good way to continue to change the narrative that has followed her since her suspension for cannabis use before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics would be to show people another side of herself …on Dancing With the Stars.

Frederick Richard, Gymnastics
If Dancing With the Stars wants a bold move, they could select a male gymnast. Gymnastics gets a lot of eyes, but they mostly go to the women. Richards, 2023 World all-around bronze medalist is looking to change that and bring some Olympics medals home. After that, he could do a lot for visibility for men in the sport by just being himself on a show like Dancing With the Stars.
