'Golden Bachelor' stars Gerry Turner, Theresa Nist finalize divorce after 5-month marriage
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist have finalized their golden divorce five months after their televised Bachelor Nation wedding.
The "Golden Bachelor" couple's marriage officially ended this this week two months after they announced their split, according to Indiana court public records viewed by USA TODAY Thursday.
USA TODAY has reached out to Turner's attorney for comment. A representative for Nist could not be reached for comment.
On Thursday, a judge signed off on a summary decree of dissolution of marriage and approved their marital settlement agreement, which detailed how the former couple's property — including real estate, furnishings, personal belongings and cars — and their respective finances should be divided.
Turner and Nist married in a lavish ceremony, which was attended by Bachelor franchise stars and televised on ABC, at Southern California's La Quinta Resort & Club on Jan. 4.
According to court documents obtained by USA TODAY, they "lived together as husband and wife until April 12, 2024, at which time certain irreconcilable differences heretofore arisen between the parties culminated in their separation."
The couple shocked fans when they announced the news of their divorce during an April 12 appearance on "Good Morning America."
"Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we've looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and — and we've kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it's probably time for us to dissolve our marriage," Turner told GMA correspondent Juju Chang on "GMA."
"We have received so much love and support from so many people who watched 'The Golden Bachelor,' and I don't think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope," Nist said. "We want none of that to change for anybody."

Why did Gerry and Theresa divorce?
In April, the exes confirmed that deciding where to settle down contributed to their divorce.
"We looked at homes in South Carolina, we considered New Jersey, and we just looked at homes after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision," Nist told Chang.
The pair, holding hands, told Chang they had not fallen out of love with Turner saying, "I still love this person. There's no doubt in my mind, I still am in love with her. I root for her every day."
"Yeah, I still love him," Nist added.
In a lengthy Instagram post days after their "GMA" revelation, Nist thanked fans and loved ones for their support following the couple’s breakup.
"It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, something I never expected to happen at this point in my life and I truly thought it was going to last forever," she wrote. "It turns out, even at the age of 70, you don’t know everything.”
She continued: "Sometimes things don’t go the way you planned and that’s okay."
