Golden Bachelorette Fans Claim Joan Picked Chock Because ‘Marrying For Love Isn’t Enough’
The Golden Bachelorette is now over, and Joan Vassos has found her next big love story. The school administrator from Maryland chose Chock Chapple in the final episode, with the After the Final Rose special revealing the two are still together and looking forward to their new life as a couple.
With a new life together come decisions—like where they’re going to live, the very issue that ended up being the death knell for the The Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner and his winner, Theresa Nist. Vassos also appeared in the first season of the show, but after she had to leave early to care for her ill daughter, fans clamored for her to be the first Golden Bachelorette, and that’s what’s she became.

Other questions for the new couple revolve, as always, around finances. The Golden Bachelorette might have allowed Joan and Chock to get to know each other on a deeper level, but it gave them very little clue of how they would handle life on the outside. And with that comes merging their lives, and finances together.
So, what is Chock Chapple’s net worth compared to Joan Vassos? And how easy will it be for them to merge lives?
Chock Chapple’s net worth vs. Joan Vassos
Chapple’s worth isn’t known, but it’s estimated to be around 1.8 million dollars. That’s significantly more than Vassos, whose net worth is estimated to be between $500,000 and $1 million. But where does the money come from for each of them?
The Golden Bachelorette winner Chapple, an insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas, has a great deal of his net worth tied into real estate. And considering what he owns, that’s probably a good thing. Chapple owns a $410,000 Kansas home, according to The U.S. Sun. The house is reportedly equipped with granite counters and a vaulted fireplace. It was a very good investment for Chapple, who bought the home for $260,000.

But that’s not the only home Chapple owns, the U.S. Sun reports Chapple owns another, even more expensive house, a 5,300 sq. ft. Tudor-style home very close to his other house. Chapple purchased this one for $400,000. It is now worth more than double, with the value sitting at $825,000. It’s easy to see why, the house has both big gardens which feature waterfalls and fountains, and a pool.
Chapple also owns a $375,000 lakefront home in Oklahoma and a Honda Seabrook boat. And that’s just a sample of the kind of luxurious life he leads, a life that will now include Vassos.
But what about her? Vassos’s salary as a school administrator has not been confirmed, but it’s reported to be around $60,000 to $80,000. Vassos also has a design firm, Metropolitan Interiors, which contributes to her earnings, though it is unkown by how much. On top of that, her appearance in The Golden Bachelorette is set to have paid her between $100,000 to $250,000 for the season. So, not nearly as much as her future husband, which is something fans have pointed out ever since she narrowed down her list to the final four.
“A wealthy partner might be retirement planning,” some speculated on Reddit. However, most of the fans seemed to be defending Vassos’ choices, with some saying,”Aww you think marrying for love is enough right? That’s cute. Look, at that age and usually at any age with people with good sense, you want to be with a man who is doing financially better than you AND someone you love,” and another one pointing out, “Jonathan has 2 littles. Can end the speculation with that fact alone.”
She also has a her own money, and now that the two of them are a couple they have enough between them to ensure a comfortable life going forward.
