'Golden Bachelorette' is here. Here's how to watch, and root for 2 Iowa natives competing

The first "Golden Bachelorette" is Joan Vassos, a 61-year-old grandmother and school administrator from Rockville, Maryland. Her season premiere is Wednesday, and you may see an Iowan or two during introductions.

Which 'Golden Bachelorette' contestants are from Iowa?

One of 24 men competing on the show will be 61-year-old Jonathan, a shipping consultant from Oakland, Iowa near Council Bluffs.

"I feel like I'm very mindful and want to do thoughtful things for the person that I love," Jonathan said in an Instagram video posted by the show. He also described himself as a "hopeful romantic."

Dan Roemer is a 64-year-old private investor who currently lives in Naples. Originally from Des Moines, Roemer is a Roosevelt High School and University of Iowa graduate. He left Iowa in the late '80s and told the Register that he has called many places home since moving to Florida.

The "Golden Bachelorette" website said Roemer is optimistic, loyal and open-minded. He hasn't had much luck with dating lately, so he's excited for this opportunity.

How can I watch the 'Golden Bachelorette' season premiere?

The Golden Bachelorette's season premiere is on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. central on ABC (WOI, Local 5 in central Iowa). The episode will also be available to stream the next day on Hulu.

New episodes will air weekly on Wednesdays.

How many episodes will 'The Golden Bachelorette' have?

ABC has not released the full schedule for "The Golden Bachelorette" Season 1, and it not yet clear how many episodes the season will have. "The Bachelor" franchises typically have 9 to 13 episodes per season. "The Golden Bachelor" had 9 episodes followed by a special wedding episode that aired a little more than a month after the finale.
