It has been a troubling season for some viewers of the show who said goodbye to several beloved contestants over the course of Joan’s season — Charles L, you’ll be missed. Though we can always hope to see one of our favorite contestants back on screen as the lead of The Golden Bachelor, fans are less than excited about Joan’s finale.

The season’s frontrunner, Chock, is certainly not holding back with his love for Joan on the show but has been labelled “controlling” and “possessive” by some fans. “Chock is most likely to be the subject of a Dateline mystery,” one fan even wrote on X after hometown dates… yikes!

Though fans have a good idea of who wins The Golden Bachelorette, as usual nothing is confirmed so Joan’s Oct. 23 appearance on The Viall Files podcast might not sit too well with Chock’s biggest critics. Spoiler alert! Joan might be in love with him…

As fans of the show know, Joan filmed her final rose ceremony in early August meaning that she had already chosen her winner by the time she appeared on The Viall Files. With that in mind, there are a couple of insights we can take about how she really feels about Chock given what she said.

“I was very worried that I might not find anybody,” Joan told former Bachelor Nick Viall of her first night of filming. She recalled that, as the men started to arrive in limos, there were some standout characters who she was able to see a future with off the bat.

“Chock was one of those people,” Joan added. Keep in mind that this podcast was filmed recently, meaning Joan definitely still has nothing but good things to say about Chock!

“Immediately, I loved what he did. The Chock-o-Noodle soup was hilarious,” she said, referencing the gift of homemade chicken noodle soup that Chock brought her. “But the reason that was such a good thing to do is because I realized he went and figured out who I was and what was important to me.”

“He knew the names of all four of my kids,” Joan also remembered. “Some people might call that creepy. Some people, like me, thought ‘Wow he really is interested.'”

Well, let’s hope Chock has some fans who will be happy to hear Joan’s post-show thoughts!

Regardless, Joan is definitely happy with her outcome, telling People she’s “exactly where I’m supposed to be,” in a November 6 interview.

“I thought that was going to be impossible, that I would never, ever, ever have feelings for more than one person,” she said. “It just seems very unlike me, and I was really wrong about that. I did end up having feelings for more than one person, and that was surprising.”
