'Good Morning America' Meteorologist Rob Marciano's Absence From the Network Explained

Longtime Good Morning America meteorologist Rob Marciano has officially been let go from ABC, according to multiple reports.
Marciano joined the network in 2014, contributing to programs like ABC World News Tonight with David Muir, GMA, and Good Morning America: Weekend Edition.
Back in September, the meteorologist celebrated ten years with ABC News, announcing on Instagram that he was transitioning away from weekend weather coverage and would be "contributing across all ABC shows and platforms Mon-Fri..." while Somara Theodore took over his weekend hours.
However, on Tuesday, April 30, Puck News' Dylan Byers announced that he'd been fired, reportedly following "multiple...complaints about [his] behavior over the years." According to Byers, he'd also been "at least temporarily barred from main GMA set in NYC"—which viewers said made sense when you looked at how "every time he was on, he was in the field" for his final months on screen.

Representatives for the network have declined media requests for commentary, but sources have confirmed to both USA Today and TVLine, off the record, that Marciano's employment has been terminated.
According to USA Today, Marciano's reporting was featured on the network as recently as last week, with a segment on Shreveport, Louisiana's recovery from a June 2023 storm airing on ABC World News Tonight days before it was uploaded to ABC News' website on Sunday, April 28.
There's no word yet on who may be replacing him across the other shows he's been contributing to, nor where Marciano is heading next, although he teased "an exciting new project with NatGeo" back in September.
