Goodbye, Billy Bob Thornton. Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ wraps filming in Fort Worth
After over four months of filming in and around Fort Worth, Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman” has wrapped production.
The series, which is set in the world of oil rigs, is the latest from Sheridan and will debut on Paramount+. Billy Bob Thornton stars in the series, alongside Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, Andy Garcia and Michael Pe?a.
Cameras began rolling on “Landman” in Fort Worth in early February and ended over the last week, according to several social media posts from cast members.

Ali Larter, who plays Angela, the ex-wife of Thornton’s character Tommy Norris, posted to her 572,000 followers on Instagram that “Landman” recently finished production.
“That’s a wrap on Landman! This has been one of the most rewarding jobs of my life,” Larter said. “I feel so lucky to have worked with this stellar cast and crew… Just the best of the best. Heart is full.”
Several other “Landman” cast members made similar posts regarding the series, including actress Michelle Randolph.
Randolph is playing Ainsley Norris, the daughter of Thornton’s character, and said her experience on the series has been special.
“A wrap on landman. What a colored collision— exhilarating, fervent, tender,” Randolph said. “I feel so humbled to hold these special moments, and I wish I could pause time to relish each one. If this were just a fever dream, I’d do it all over again. Buzzing. Love you all, see you soon.”
Actors Mustafa Speaks and James Jordan also took to Instagram to praise their time on the series.
“That’s a season wrap on BOSS,” Speaks said. “Epic is an understatement. Can’t wait for y’all to see this one.”
“What a crew. What a ride. What an accomplishment by all,” Jordan said.
“Landman” is co-created and executive produced by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, which is based on Texas Monthly’s podcast “Boomtown” that Wallace wrote and hosted.
The show’s synopsis reads:
“Landman is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”
No release date has been announced for “Landman,” but whenever it debuts, it will be on Paramount+.
