‘Grace And Frankie’ Season 5 Trailer: Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin Return For Season 5 With A New Attitude
Grace and Frankie are at a crossroads. No, really. At one point in this trailer for this month’s Season 5 debut of the Netflix comedy starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, the title characters are in no hurry to get from one side of a street to another, to the consternation of an impatient cop.
Snaps Fonda’s Grace: “I’ve earned the right to take my sweet f*cking time.”
Picking up where Season 4 of Grace and Frankie left off — their beachside home sold by the kids who no longer trust the aging title characters to live on their own — the odd-couple pals camp out in the vacant house, and even uptight Grace seems to have adopted a new nonchalant approach to life.
Although that’s not how she words it. Asked by the kids (Brooklyn Decker, June Diane Raphael, Ethan Embry and Baron Vaughn) what would happen if she or Frankie fell or had a stroke, Grace pauses before responding with a very Frankie-like answer. One guess before you watch.
Also in the trailer: Martin Sheen’s Robert has another heart scare — courtesy of a very good-looking naked man — and the always weight-conscious Grace finally indulges in Frankie’s favorite junk food at Del Taco.
Fonda and Tomlin both are nominated for SAG Awards, and Tomlin was Emmy-nominated last year along with production designer Devorah Herbert and costume designer Allyson B. Fanger. Grace and Frankie also stars Sam Waterston as Frankie’s ex and Robert’s current.
Grace and Frankie Season 5 launches January 18 on Netflix. Check out the trailer above.
