Grammy-winning country artist Clint Black bringing 35th anniversary tour to Evans

It's not every day that the Augusta area plays host to a name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but it will this fall.

Country artist Clint Black will soon be performing across North America as part of the 35th anniversary of his "Killin' Time" tour. Among the stops will be the Columbia County Performing Arts Center in Evans on Oct. 25.

Black was particularly popular in the 1990s. He was the Academy of Country Music and CMA's Top Male Vocalist of 1990. Black's most successful albums were in 1994 with "Killin' Time" and in 1997 with "Put Yourself in My Shoes," which both went triple platinum. He won a Grammy in 1999 for "Best Country Collaboration With Vocals" with "Same Old Train," a collaboration that included10 artists such as Randy Travis and Patty Loveless.

According to the Columbia County Performing Arts Center, Black will, for the first time ever, play his "Killin' Time" live from start to finish.

Tickets will start at about $50 and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday. They will be available at ticketmaster.com.
