While appearing on an episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast, released in July, Grant revealed that he ended up on "The Bachelorette" after his mom signed him up.

Prior to the reality TV show, Grant was in a seven-year relationship with his college girlfriend. Grant said they mutually ended their relationship after growing apart. After his mom watched "The Golden Bachelor," she decided to sign her son up for 'The Bachelorette."

He avoided the drama of Jenn's season of "The Bachelorette" and focused on deepening his connection with her. It paid off during week five when he finally got a one-on-one date.

"I always feel at ease when I'm with Grant," Jenn said on the show. "That spark is definitely there. He's always being intentional with where he's at with me and so open with his feelings that it makes me comfortable."

On their date, Grant opened up about his personal life and said that his childhood was impacted by his dad, who was an addict for 30 years. Prior to "The Bachelorette," his dad got fired from his job and checked into rehab. They've since reconnected and Grant's dad is nearly two months sober. Because of his experience, Grant said he's determined to be the man that his father wasn't.

During week six, Grant told Jenn that he was falling in love with her and could see himself being with her for the rest of his life. When he was eliminated during the rose ceremony, he was devastated and told the cameras he felt "empty."

"I did not think that was going to happen tonight," he said.

Grant was also in the audience during the live finale, where he said that he was inspired by Joan and Chock's journey on the show and aimed to similarly risk it all for love on "The Bachelor."

Then, the first teaser trailer for Grant's season was unveiled.

The footage indicates that, in typical "Bachelor" fashion, there will be plenty of drama among the women vying for his heart.

Grant is also seen charming the contestants with his singing and piano playing. However, in one moment, a teary Grant says that he wants to be happy and have love, but he's scared about making the wrong decision. In another scene, Grant appears to be undecided about who to send home during the final stage of the competition.
