“Opening weekend at the center is always a celebration, and this summer is no exception,” said executive director Matthew Kacergis in a press release. “We're kicking it off with the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Hailing from the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans, this ensemble has been the heartbeat and soundtrack of The Big Easy for more than 60 years.”

Kacergis added that “While I am looking forward to all of the events in the upcoming season, I am especially excited about a special project premiering in June.“

“‘When You Wish’ will be a soaring musical tribute to 100 years of magic with original arrangements of Disney’s greatest hits created just for the center,” he said. “Patrons of all ages are invited to relive the moments that shaped our childhoods and taught us to dream. We have a few surprises planned that will make for a very memorable experience for the whole family.”
