Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Shares Bold Opinion of Taylor Swift After Seeing the Eras Tour for Himself
Taylor Swift, Billie Joe Armstrong
Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong took some time to see what the Eras Tour hype is for himself while in Lyon, France, and he's got some strong words after seeing the record-breaking production.
The "Basket Case" singer had a few days off during his own European tour, which started in Madrid, Spain, on June 1 and will resume in Lyon on Wednesday, June 5. So he headed to France a little early to catch the over-three-hour spectacle that everyone has been talking about for himself.
"Just saw Taylor Swift eras tour in Lyon France ????!!" he wrote on Instagram after the performance. "Great production. Great voice . Great entertainer. Great songwriting," he declared, describing it as a "Crazy crowd," too.
"People even shared with me some friendship bracelets," he added, showing off the two handmade bracelets that read a pair of Swift's lyrics. "Thanks a million @taylorswift."
Some Green Day fans hoped that he was there taking notes for an "eras tour" of his own, with one questioning, "Giving you ideas for a Green Day eras tour?"
Others wondered if there could be a collaboration between the artists in the works—and, if not, hoped one could come to fruition. "Green day and Taylor swift collab when?" one wanted to know, while another crossed their fingers for a "Taylor rock album ????" that could be the perfect fit.
"You two writing a song together would be epic! ??????," someone else added.
The excitement follows his soon-to-be touring partners' cover of Swift's "The 1," with Counting Crows breaking out their "'90s sad boy" take on the folklore track at a recent festival performance that had fans making bold declarations about the song.
