Greta Lee, Meg Ryan Attend Al Fresco Saks and Loewe Dinner at Pace Gallery

Saks and Loewe offered an artful break from the usual New York Fashion Week party stops on Saturday night, inviting an intimate crowd to an al fresco dinner on the sixth floor terrace at Pace Gallery on 25th Street. Designer Jonathan Anderson was in town fresh from the Venice Film Festival premiere of Luca Guadagnino’s “Queer”; Anderson designed the film’s costumes, marking the second collaboration between the two creatives following “Challengers.”

The dinner crowd included many of Loewe’s film industry friends, including Greta Lee, Tracee Ellis Ross, Meg Ryan, Morgan Spector, Evan Peters, Young Mazino, and Murray Bartlett along with fashion industry peers like Karlie Kloss, Tanner Reese and Tyler Mitchell. “Industry” star Myha’la Herrold, who was the face of Loewe’s 2023 pre-fall campaign, took advantage of the Hudson River backdrop with an impromptu shoot during cocktail hour.

“Woo! Oh my god, he’s so hot!” Lee had appeared next to the small group of photographers and was hyping up Anderson as he posed in front of the green step-and-repeat. “He needs a couple more,” added Lee, before Anderson ushered the actress to join him in the shot. Although the celebrity per capita was high on the rooftop setting, Anderson remained firmly the focus of the evening. “He’s the star of the moment,” said Ross, gesturing toward Anderson.

“This is an amazing evening for us,” said Saks’ Tracy Margolies as guests took their seats around two long tables set with Loewe pillar candles and vegetable centerpieces. “Tonight is about a celebration of Jonathan. Jonathan, we just want to tell you that we’re so honored to have you tonight, we’re so inspired by your creativity. You really are a fashion force.” The designer, flanked by seatmates Ryan and Lee, nodded his head in appreciation.

After the brief intro, guests turned their attention to the three-course meal prepared by chef August Johnson of One White Street. The U.S. Open was a hot dinnertime topic, as guests discussed the results of the women’s final earlier that day, and made their predictions for the men’s final on Sunday, which featured an American player (Taylor Fritz) for the first time in 2006.

As the evening drew to a close, guests made their way out of the gallery with a lingering gift: one of the fragrant vegetable arrangements. An invitation, perhaps, to make it over to Saks to catch the brand’s garden-themed display.
