Gucci Mane Meets Vybz Kartel in Jamaica
Gucci Mane got to meet Vybz Kartel after the Jamaican dancehall star did an in-depth interview with the rapper's wife, Keyshia Ka'oir.
On Friday, Ka'oir dropped the newest episode of her talk show All Things Keyshia Ka'Oir with Kartel as the latest guest, and he got a chance to meet Gucci following the conversation. Kartel was ecstatic to meet Guwop, and he wasted no time telling him how important he was to the people of Jamaica.
"Yooo, big man, you are loved in this country, you know that right. You are loved in this country, G man," said Vybz.
Gucci wrote in the caption of his Instagram post capturing the moment, "Met the worl boss @vybzkartel ! Di ting Fully active."
Kartel was freed from prison in July after serving 13 years behind bars. In March, the 48-year-old won a United Kingdom appeal over the 2011 murder of his associate Clive "Lizard" Williams, whose body was never found. Kartel had been waiting on a final appeal in his home country, but the court decided not to go through a retrial.
According to a report by Fox 5, Kartel was not expected to serve a longer sentence if a retrial happened due to his ailments. In 2023, reports claimed Kartel suffers from Graves disease and has a heart condition , with an attorney stating he was living under "inhumane" prison conditions.
