Adidas Originals and Gunna revealed the new Adizero Aruku sneaker over the weekend in Europe, where the rapper debuted the shoes at the Wireless Festival in London and at the Euro Cup Final in Berlin. The sneakers are slated to be released globally in 2025.
The official Adidas release describes the shoe: “Inspired by Japan’s dynamic streetwear, the Adizero Aruku represents a fusion of global influences, redefining the boundaries between athletic performance and urban fashion. As a symbol of modernity and versatility, it transcends traditional sneaker design to make a bold cultural statement.”
The shoe is crafted in a red and white colorway featuring three gray and black stripes on the side. The design features a geometric pattern across the sneaker, which is secured with white laces.
Gunna took the stage at Wireless Festival in London wearing the new shoes, pairing them with baggy jeans and a graphic T-shirt. Adidas also hosted an after-party described as “an intimate celebration of Atlanta culture in the heart of London.”
The “Drip Too Hard” artist had delved into the fashion world before this collaboration. In 2021, the rapper collaborated with Bape to release a Bape Sta sneaker. That same year, he also starred in a campaign for Foot Locker. He proved to be a fashion muse when Rihanna dressed up as him for Halloween in 2021.
Meanwhile, Adidas Originals has tapped other stars to help promote the relaunch of the Cult SL 72; Bella Hadid, Jules Koundé, A$AP Nest, Melissa Bon and Sabrina Lan are featured in the new campaign for the shoe. Adidas also continues to reinvent its Adizero silhouette — the Adizero SL2 was recently launched, featuring Lightstrike Pro Foam.
