Guns N’ Roses Guitarist Slash Speaks Out After the Sudden Death of Step-Daughter Lucy-Bleu Knight
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has broken his silence following the sudden death of his step-daughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, who passed away at the age of 25 last week. Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, posted a touching tribute to Knight on his personal Instagram.
“My heart is permanently fractured. I will never ever stop missing you and remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been and still are,” he wrote. He called Knight “the brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much,” and told followers he would “find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally.”
Many of the rocker’s famous friends and fans poured into the comments to offer their condolences.
“My deepest condolences brother,” fellow rock star Lenny Kravitz wrote. “And yes, she still IS! Love to the family.”
“Love you both my friend,” Walking Dead star Norman Reedus said, whilst Inglourious Basterds actor Eli Roth left a succession of heart emojis.
“I’m so sorry my friend,” musician Tom Morello wrote. “Love to you and family.”
News of Knight’s death was announced in a statement posted to Slash’s Instagram page on July 22. The statement confirmed that Knight died “peacefully” in her sleep, but did not give other specifics about her cause of death.
“Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul,” the statement read. “The family asks for privacy at this time and asks that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”
