Gwyneth Paltrow looks like a smitten schoolgirl in photo she shares from engagement party
Gwyneth Paltrow critics often say that she comes across like she’s above something. Well, she’s certainly not above being a love-struck bride-to-be.
On Monday, the actress and Goop guru, 45, shared a photo from her over-the-top engagement party with producer Brad Falchuk. They are onstage at the Los Angeles Theatre with the future groom holding a microphone and Paltrow giving him a serious look of love. Like total giddy schoolgirl, prom corsage included.

In the post, she thanked TV megaproducer Ryan Murphy for throwing the elaborate bash, which drew a star-studded crowd including Jennifer Aniston (with some kind of wrist injury), Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden, Julia Roberts and Danny Moder, Demi Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Steven Spielberg, Karlie Kloss, Liv Tyler, Matthew Morrison, Lake Bell, Rob Lowe, and pretty much anybody who’s anybody. She also credited Giambattista Valli for her “gorgeous” dress, which showed off her famously toned bod.
Paltrow also thanked their “amazing, true, and dear friends,” but ended the post with a shout out to Falchuk for providing her with “true happiness.” Seriously, she is a woman in love.
Party-thrower Murphy, who has worked on American Horror Story and Glee with the groom-to-be, pulled out all the stops for the black-tie event,” People magazine reported. Guests were greeted with the marquee messages, “GP loves BF” and “BF loves GP.” There were lots of candles and fragrant flowers — which seems straight out of Goop — and there was a live band and dancing. Several guests offered up toasts to the happy couple. And even though there were a ton of celebs there — and a ton of people there in general (Page Six reported 400) — the “very glamorous” party still “felt intimate and special.”
Needless to say, the couple will have to work hard to top this for their wedding.
The actress, who just had her bachelorette party, announced her engagement to Falchuk in January after three years of dating. She told People magazine that, despite it being her second wedding, it felt like her first because she had eloped with Chris Martin in 2003. (They are parents to two children, Apple and Moses.) “I’m excited about everything!” she said. “I’ve never had a wedding before. So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.”
This will also be Falchuk’s second marriage. His first, to Suzanne Falchuk, ended in 2013, and they have two kids as well.
