Halle Berry Issues Bold Response to Criticism Over Her Movie Career: 'Yes, I've Seen the Jokes'
Halle Berry is being a good sport about the criticism she's received for her movie roles.
The 58-year-old actress was giving an interview on the red carpet recently when she directly addressed the complaints fans often have about the wigs she wears in her films.
"They ride me hard about my wigs," she told an Extra reporter during the premiere of her newest film Never Let Go on Monday, Sept. 16. "But that's okay."
Acknowledging that her fans frequently call her out for wearing a "jacked-up wig" in a lot of her movies, Berry lightheartedly defended herself saying, "I'm playing characters. Some characters have jacked-up hair.
"That's just the truth," she playfully added with a laugh.
Following Monday night's premiere, Berry took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video of the red carpet conversation, letting her followers know that she is very much aware of how many people often wig out over her characters' hair.
"Yes, I've seen the jokes," she quipped in her tweet.
Her fans were instantly impressed by Berry's handling of the criticism, as her followers on X began praising the Oscar-winner for not taking herself too seriously.
"I love how real and down to earth you are about the jokes," one user wrote, while another said the Catwoman star is "such a queen."
In her tweet, Berry also told her followers, "And most of you are saying you’re wearing Halle inspired wigs to the theater this weekend. I want to see every picture so please tweet me when you go."
Berry's new film Never Let Go hits theaters on Friday, Sept. 20.
