In the celebration of 45 years of Lebanese brand Elie Saab, titled “The 1001 Seasons of ELIE SAAB,” Berry rewore her iconic dress that’s composed of a lace sheer top and a billowing deep red skirt.

“Rare moments in time, when a fashion statement makes an everlasting memory,” said the narrator as Berry walked onto the runway. “To this day, one deep red gown is an enduring symbol of grace and strength. That night, in 2002, at the 74th Academy Awards, Halle Berry made history wearing Elie Saab and became the first African American woman to win the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Monster’s Ball.”

Berry then walked to the edge of the runway, looked to her sides, and tried her best not to get emotional. As she looked around, Berry also placed her right hand on her heart, indicating how much the moment meant to her.

In addition to the dress, Berry looked radiant in a glowy makeup look and her braids put up into a chic bun.

This isn’t the first time Berry has shown her appreciation for this dress and its designer.

“I just remember feeling really great in this dress,” Berry told Vogue in 2022. “The top was very open and free and just had these little flowers that sort of covered all the right bits that it needed to cover but the bottom was very regal and very grand.”

“I remember this was Elie Saab, but he wasn’t the Elie Saab we know now,” she continued. “He was a young designer who was just starting and at the time it wasn’t the biggest name I could’ve worn but there was something about this dress that made me feel uniquely myself.”
