Halle Berry Will Have a Very Special Role Ahead of The Paris Olympics

Halle Berry is set to attend this year's Olympic games, and the longtime actress will have a very special role ahead of the athletic event.

In honor of the competition, the Catwoman star will carry the symbolic Olympic flame down the Croisette in Cannes, France, on Tuesday ahead of the Paris Games’ kickoff next week, according to Page Six.

It is said that in preparation, the French Riviera boulevard will be temporarily shutting down as Berry makes her way through the area with the torch between 11 AM to 1 PM local time.

Though it is a huge honor to be tapped to usher in the torch, some shop owners local to the area and festival-goers have expressed their gripes about plans for the area to be closed off during the specified timeframe.

“How am I supposed to get to my events if the Croisette is shut down? Apparently they’re cutting the road in half? This is such unfortunate timing," one attendee complained to the outlet.

Meanwhile, others are excited about the potential Berry sighting, with someone else telling the publication, “It’ll be so amazing to see her carrying the torch! It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

The 2024 Paris Olympic Opening Ceremony will take place on July 26, with the Paris Games consisting of 329 medal events over 16 days from July 27 to Aug. 11, per NBC Sports.

Olympics aside, the actress was praised earlier this month for her unfiltered content that fans called the "most human thing" and extremely relatable of her to share.

In the hilarious moment, the B.A.P.S. star was having trouble undressing, having a major wardrobe malfunction as her stylist attempted to help her remove her top from her body after an event.
