KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WJW) — Despite the fill-in-the-blank scripts, the tried-and-true formula for many a Hallmark Channel holiday film remains popular year after year.
Immersive Hallmark Christmas Experience coming this year — plus meet the stars
And this year, the Hallmark Channel is teaming up with the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs to bring a brand new movie to TV that many may see as a tribute to the very public relationship between Cleveland Heights’ own Travis Kelce and global superstar Taylor Swift.
Starring Tyler Hynes and Hunter King, the plot for “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” reportedly involves a woman who comes from a family of Chiefs superfans. She meets the Director of Fan Engagement as part of a “fan of the year” contest and sparks fly. Some things go wrong, and then they’ll go just right.
“By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way,” Darren Abbott, Hallmark’s chief brand officer, said in a statement.

Hallmark is based in Kansas City, and this film was made on location, including at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium.
It’s not yet clear if Kelce or Swift are involved in the cozy, cheesy, lovely goodness of this latest Hallmark Christmas movie.
