It’s taken 34 years for a Beetlejuice sequel to manifest, and you don’t even have to say his name three times to summon it - just twice will do. Yes, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is almost here, hitting cinemas in September, shortly after its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

Among the key players are returning are writer/director Tim Burton and stars Michael Keaton (as bio-exorcist Betelgeuse) and Winona Ryder (as the strange and unusual Lydia Deetz). Jenna Ortega is representing the next generation of the Deetz family as Lydia’s daughter, Astrid, following on from her collaboration with Tim Burton on Wednesday.

Inside the issue, Burton, Keaton, Ryder, Ortega and more - including Monica Bellucci and Justin Theroux - tell Total Film about reviving the cult favourite for a sequel that’s nothing like your typical franchise far. And Total Film visits the set in Leavesden Studios to get hands on with the practical effects.

Elsewhere in the issue, we’ve got the lowdown on the next big MCU project: Agatha All Along. The WandaVision spin-off is heading to Disney+ soon, and showrunner Jac Shaeffer and stars Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza and Joe Locke tell us what we can expect from this Witches’ Road trip.

Plus, big interview with the likes of Saoirse Ronan, Colman Domingo, Elizabeth Olsen, Carrie Coon and Natasha Lyonne, as well as an in-depth look at talking-point body horror The Substance, with Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore.

There are also new looks at The Penguin, Wolfs, The Wild Robot and more, plus all the news, reviews, and regulars you expect.

And as part of our subscriber offering, if you sign up for a subscription, you’ll get instant access to the new issue in digital form – as well as a massive archive of more than 10 years’ worth of digital issues to explore.
