Halsey is engaged to “Victorious ”actor“ ”Avan Jogia: 'One of the greatest things that ever happened to me'
"Every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I'm with my best friend."
Halsey and Avan Jogia are officially engaged!
The “Ego” singer, who uses she/they pronouns, announced the big news on Wednesday, with a cheeky X post correcting an account that referred to Jogia as her boyfriend. “Fiancé Avan Jogia,” she amended.
The clarification comes after Halsey, 29, walked the red carpet for MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards, where she was asked whether there are wedding bells in the future for her and Jogia, 32.
"I hope so,” she told E!, teasing the announcement. "Avan is the best. He's one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. And every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I'm with my best friend, you know what I mean?"
The “Lucky” singer, who shares 3-year-old son Ender with ex Alev Aydin, added that she isn’t the only one looking forward to a future with Jogia. Of her son’s relationship to her now-fiancé, she added, “They’re best friends too. They're inseparable”
Representatives for Halsey and Jogia did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.
Jogia, an actor and musician known for his Nickelodeon days as one of the leads of Victorious, first sparked dating rumors with Halsey in September 2023, when they were photographed kissing in Los Angeles.
They confirmed their relationship by going Instagram official a month later, when the singer-songwriter shared a now-deleted carousel of photos that featured the two together in matching latex Halloween costumes. Jogia also shared photos from the outing to his own Instagram page.

Their engagement news continues an eventful year for both stars. Jogia is hot off the heels of Orphan Black: Echoes, the 10-episode sci-fi thriller starring Krysten Ritter that expands the world introduced in the hit 2013 clone conspiracy saga, Orphan Black.
Meanwhile, Halsey is in the midst of a comeback era, after sharing details of their diagnosis with systemic lupus erythematosus and a rare T-Cell lymphoproliferative disorder. At the VMAs, Halsey debuted their latest single, “Ego,” off their upcoming record, The Great Impersonator. This marked her first return to the VMAs stage since performing “Closer” with The Chainsmokers in 2016.
Her fifth studio album, which includes singles “Lucky” and “The End,” is set for release on Oct. 25.
“I made this record in the space between life and death,” Halsey previously wrote of the record on Instagram. “And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already.”
