'Hamilton' is returning to PPAC. See what else is in their 2024-25 season show lineup
The beloved musical "Hamilton" is back in the lineup at the Providence Performing Arts Center for the 2024-25 season, alongside other classics such as "Mamma Mia!" and "Chicago."
There are 13 shows coming through PPAC next season, including two that will be making their touring debut in Providence, "A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical" and "Shucked." They are the 23rd and 24th tours to kick off at PPAC.
“We are looking forward to this incredible season,” J.L. “Lynn” Singleton, president and CEO of PPAC said.

2024-25 Show Schedule at PPAC
A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical
Dates: Sept. 21-28, 2024
Part of: The Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series
What to know: Made in collaboration with Neil Diamond, the tour for the musical will launch at PPAC. The show is about how a kid from Brooklyn (i.e. Neil Diamond) became a rock icon.
Shucked
Dates: Oct. 20-27, 2024
Part of: The Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series
What to know: Another national tour launch, "Shucked" is a Tony Award-winning musical comedy with a corny sense of humor. Set in fictional Cobb County, the residents are trying to save their dying corn. Singleton described it as like a clean version of "The Book of Mormon" and highly recommended the off-brand humor.
Mamma Mia!
Dates: Nov. 12-17, 2024
Part of: Encore Series
What to know: A beloved classic musical, head to a Greek island to be with a daughter trying to discern which of three men might be her father on the eve of her wedding.
Hamilton
Dates: Dec. 11–22, 2024
Part of: Broadway Specials
What to know: Don't miss your shot to see "Hamilton" back in Providence for the third time. Likely to be the hardest show to get tickets for this season, it's nothing short of a revolutionary musical.
MJ
Dates: Jan. 21–26, 2025
Part of: The Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series
What to know: About Michael Jackson's meteoric rise to fame, MJ has won four Tony Awards. It centers on Jackson's 1992 Dangerous World Tour. It's a "fantastic show on the road," Singleton said, adding that it's selling out in New York City.
The Cher Show
Dates: Feb. 5-6, 2025
Part of: Broadway Specials
What to know: A collection of Cher's 35 smash hits, this show follows her from when she was a kid to when she became a pop star to when she became an icon.
Life of Pi
Dates: Feb. 11–16, 2025
Part of: The Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series
What to know: Based on the very successful novel about a 16-year-old boy named Pi who survives on a lifeboat with four companions – a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Royal Bengal tiger. The stage and puppetry of this show are amazing. It won three Tony Awards.
& Juliet
Dates: Feb. 25–March 2, 2025

What to know: We've all wondered what would have happened if Juliet didn't end it over Romeo – this is that story. Written by a writer from "Schitt's Creek," you'll know the music for this show as it's done with pop anthems, including "Since U Been Gone?" "Roar," "Baby One More Time," "Larger Than Life?" "That’s The Way It Is“ and "Can't Stop the Feeling!"
The Vanishing Elephant
Dates: March 12, 2025
Part of: Sensory-friendly performance
What to know: With large-scale puppetry, illusion and magic, this is the story of an elephant born in Bengal, India, who was captured and became a stage elephant. A young boy, Opu, helps her adjust to being a stage elephant, only to be separated when she is moved to America. Years later, they are reunited before her greatest trick.
Riverdance 30: The New Generation
Dates: April 4–6, 2025
Part of: Encore Series
What to know: The famous Irish Dance is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Even if you've seen it before, this time will be different with some new choreography and a new generation of performers, all under 30 years old.
Some Like it Hot
Dates: April 22-27, 2025
Part of: The Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series
What to know: Set in Chicago during the Prohibition, it's the story of two musicians fleeing the city after a mob hit. It won four Tony Awards.
Not letting it go: RI native Jennifer Lee found fairy tale fame through 'Frozen.' What's she working on now?
Chicago
Dates: May 2–4, 2025
Part of: Encore Series
What to know: One of the longest-running musicals on Broadway with many accolades to its name, it's a classic, can't-miss story.
Back to the Future: The Musical
Dates: June 10-15, 2025
Part of: The Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series
What to know: The musical version of the hit movie, join Marty McFly back in 1955. The show, which includes the same sound effects as the movie, was in development for 14 years.
How to get tickets to PPAC
Tickets for individual shows will be on sale at a later date, but if there are multiple shows you want to see PPAC offers subscription packages.
If you already have a subscription, the renewal deadline is April 26 and expect to get information in the mail soon.
