Freshman comedy Happy’s Place stars Reba McEntire as Bobbie, the proprietor of a Tennessee bar she inherited after her father’s death. Belissa Escobedo co-stars as Isabella, who turns out to be a half-sister Bobbie never knew she had. Reba alum Melissa Peterman plays bartender Gabby, with Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco and Tokala Black Elk also in the supporting cast.
Debuting last month on NBC, Happy’s Place earned 4 million total viewers and a 0.4 rating in the key 18-49 demo with its series premiere. (Check out our premiere post mortem with executive producer Kevin Abbott here.) NBC’s initial order was for 13 episodes.
Lopez vs. Lopez stars veteran stand-up comic George Lopez and his real-life daughter Mayan as fictionalized versions of themselves. Season 3 debuted last month as well, in the Friday night time slot following Happy’s Place. The season premiere pulled in 2.1 million viewers, an improvement over last season, along with a 0.3 rating.
