Fans get first look at Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's wedding in DC's 'Injustice' comic
Forget Batman and Robin: For decades now, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy have been Gotham City’s most beloved dynamic duo. The two villains began their beautiful friendship on a 1993 episode of Batman: The Animated Series, written by Harley Quinn’s creator, Paul Dini. “It was fun to give Poison Ivy a friend because she has never had one,” Dini told Yahoo Entertainment in 2016. “She’d had underlings and people she mind-controlled, but she never had anybody who accepted her for who she is.”
Flash-forward 27 years, and that friendship has long since blossomed into love — both in fans’ hearts and multiple page-and-screen storylines. Harley and Ivy kissed in a 2016 issue of the comic series Bombshells, as well as in a Season 2 episode of the popular Harley Quinn animated series that premiered on DC Universe before moving to HBO Max. And now their relationship is officially accompanied by wedding bells. The latest issue of DC Comics’s Injustice: Year Zero prequel series — set in an alternate reality inspired by the popular Injustice video game where Superman is a bad guy — confirms that Harley and Ivy tied the knot. Written by Tom Taylor, Injustice: Year Zero #8 features their wedding in a Las Vegas suite, complete with the requisite Elvis impersonator.
To be clear, this may be the first time we’re seeing their nuptials in the pages of Injustice, but their marriage in that universe has been alluded to as far back as 2018, when Ivy first told the story of their Vegas wedding in the Injustice 2 series. It’s also worth noting that their grand love story sadly goes sour in that darker DC timeline.
Even if it ends in tragedy, fans on Twitter were thrilled to finally see Harley and Ivy live out the happiest day of their lives.

Honestly, it's about time. This started in Batman TAS.
Now it just needs to be a thing in the main DC Universe.
....Except DC continuity is such a load of rebooted gibberish that it would probably get retconned in a month... 🤨@AislinnDeAth https://t.co/p70l1hWvC0— Phantom Killaway (@LordZypher) October 27, 2020
While he didn’t write this particular Injustice issue, Dini long ago blessed Harley and Ivy’s union. “I’m all for it,” he told us in 2016. “I think their relationship in the comics is progressive, and the sort of thing that needs to be in comics. It’s fun to show that even the bad girls can be nice to each other, and there can be love and affection between them. It’s actually a much stronger relationship between them now, because it involves personal choice.”
