This Harry Potter Star Revealed How Their Son Inspire Her to Work Alongside Prince William

In case you missed it, Harry Potter alum Bonnie Wright recently collaborated with Prince William of Wales, and it’s all thanks to her son Elio Ocean.

Per People, Wright started working with William’s Earthshot Prize to make a new, inspiring competition to help “tackle global challenges.”

The new competition Wright made with the Earthshot Prize is also a collab with the British children’s show Blue Peter.

It was made to help children “believe that the ideas that they have are important,” she said. “It empowers young people to not feel like they’re being left behind. We’re leaning into young people’s imaginations and voices and ideas. And also bringing to the forefront something that I think is incredibly important.”

Per People, children, ages 5-15 years old, are invited to submit their original ideas to the Earthshot Prize. But it has to tackle one of the five challenges: Fix Our Climate, Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, and Build a Waste-Free World.

Now, how did Wright’s son influence her so much?

“Just seeing the way that he’s experiencing the world – all the things he gravitates toward are things in nature,” Wright said to People in a super-rare interview. “It is interesting to see, though his innocent life, how much he interacts with nature, and again, why it’s so important for us, in more powerful positions as grown adults to make the effort and be aware.”

For those who don’t know, Wright and her husband, Andrew Lococo, welcomed their first child, a son named Elio Ocean Wright Lococo, on Sept 19, 2023.
