Hasan Minhaj Sets Third Netflix Comedy Special ‘Off With His Head’

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix announced on Wednesday morning that Hasan Minhaj: Off With His Head, the streamer’s third stand-up special from two-time Peabody Award winner Hasan Minhaj, will premiere globally on October 22.

For Minhaj, the new hour comes on the heels of the Netflix specials Hasan Minhaj: The King’s Jester and Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King, which were respectively released in 2022 and 2017. In it, he’s back in full force, tackling politics, misguided self-improvement, and the challenges of life with young kids and aging parents.

The special was filmed at San Jose Civic in San Jose, CA, with Tyler Babin directing. Minhaj exec produced alongside Prashanth Venkataramanujam.

Rising to prominence during his time at a senior correspondent for The Daily Show between 2014 and 2018, Minhaj is perhaps best known for hosting and exec producing Netflix’s political talk show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, which ran for six seasons, winning a Peabody and an Emmy, among other accolades. His work on the series led to him being named one of the most 100 most influential people in the world by Time in 2019.

With his debut special Homecoming King, Minhaj looked to tell his story as an Indian-American Muslim, covering topics including racism, bullying and meeting the demanding expectations of his immigrant parents. Covering fertility, fatherhood, and freedom of speech with his follow-up, The King’s Jester, he can currently be seen in the hit Sony film It Ends with Us and has also recently been seen in titles like Babes, Haunted Mansion, and No Hard Feelings.

Next to be seen in Disney’s Tron: Ares, Minhaj is represented by WME and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
