Hayden Panettiere and fiancé Wladimir Klitschko have split, her mom says

Hayden Panettiere and Wladimir Klitschko have ended their relationship, the actress’s mom confirms. The Nashville star, 28, and the 42-year-old Ukrainian former boxer have been together for nine years and share a daughter, 3-year-old Kaya.

Panettiere’s mother, Lesley Vogel, revealed the news to Radar Online. “Think there are a lot of changes going on in her life. But I think they’re positive changes. And I think that she’s taking some time,” she said. Vogel noted that her daughter was taking a pause from Hollywood now that Nashville has ended. “She needs to take a little bit of a break and make some decisions on her own of what she wants to do. So I think she is in a very good place.”

Yahoo Entertainment reached out to a representative for Panettiere to verify the claims but did not immediately receive a response.

The news comes after Panettiere was photographed leaving Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood holding hands with a male companion. The gentleman told TMZ he’s her “gay pool boy.”

Although it’s unknown why Panettiere and Klitschko split, it sounds like they’re on good terms. They recently returned from a family trip to Greece, according to Vogel. The former Heroes star also tweeted her support for Klitschko’s brother last month.

It’s unclear exactly when the couple called it quits. Panettiere and Klitschko were last photographed together looking affectionate in Barbados in February.

They began dating in 2009 and announced their engagement in 2013 but never wed. The couple remained united during the actress’s stints in rehab. After the birth of their daughter in 2014, Panettiere struggled with postpartum depression, seeking professional help in December 2015 and again five months later.

“The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life,” she wrote on Twitter. “Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!”

Rumors of relationship strife hit around the same time when she was pictured without her engagement ring. The actress debunked the whispers after treatment.

Neither Panettiere nor Klitschko has publicly addressed their reported breakup. But she found TMZ’s article hilarious.
