Hayden Panettiere's boyfriend Brian Hickerson arrested for domestic violence after reported late-night blowout fight
Hayden Panettiere and her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, are again in the headlines — and again it’s not good news.
Hickerson, 30, was arrested on Thursday in L.A., according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records. He was taken into custody by the Hollywood division of the LAPD at 2:25 a.m. and booked for felony domestic violence. He was held on $50,000 bail and was released at 3:10 p.m. the same day after posting bond.
TMZ had more details, reporting that Hickerson’s arrest took place at the couple’s home after a night out on the town turned violent. He and the Nashville and Heroes star, who had reportedly been drinking, had a fight and at some point the cops were called, but it’s unclear who placed the call. The police apparently noticed redness and marks on 29-year-old Panettiere’s body and after speaking with both of them, arrested Hickerson.
In October, Hickerson was involved in another domestic violence incident. While in South Carolina, he and his father, David, got into a fight and police were called. Panettiere opened the door. TMZ reported that the star was “drunk and frantic.”
When news stories followed stating her friends and family were concerned about Panettiere’s well-being, Hickerson issued a statement denying it saying they "are not worried about her at all."
Panettiere and Hickerson’s relationship was made public in August after she was photographed — looking worse for wear — out with him in L.A. The new coupling was also news that her longtime romance with boxer Wladimir Klitschko, with whom she shares a 4-year-old daughter, was over.
In February, there was a very unflattering Us Weekly cover story about Panettiere that claimed she “gave up her daughter,” Kaya, to Klitschko, who was raising the child with help from his family. It claimed Panettiere, who has been acting since she was a child, was “spiraling out of control” and exhibiting “wild behavior.”
Hickerson also responded to that report, saying, “Hayden is actually on a family vacation right now with her daughter and the Champ, so don’t believe everything you read.” He also called Panettiere — who sought treatment for postpartum depression in 2015 and 2016 — “a great mom.” Panettiere then posted a photo of her daughter online, a rare social media post.
Yahoo Entertainment reached out to a rep for the actress and will update this story when we hear back.
