A Heartie Holiday! Watch WCTH’s Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing Reunite For the First Time Since Jack’s Death

Hearties, Christmas came early! After months of anticipation, Hallmark released its first full-length trailer for its upcoming holiday movie, Santa Tell Me, starring When Calls the Heart‘s Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing.

The movie — which marks the first time Krakow and Lissing have shared the screen together since Lissing’s last When Calls the Heart episode in 2018 — follows Olivia (Krakow), an interior designer who finds an old letter from Santa promising that she’ll meet the love of her life by Christmas Eve… and that his name will be Nick. As she she meets not one but three men named Nick not too long after, Olivia becomes confused as she also finds herself drawn to her co-worker, Chris (Lissing). (Watch the trailer below.)

“Jack and Elizabeth together again!!” a user commented, referencing Lissing and Krakow’s characters from Hallmark’s long-running TV series. “This one I cannot wait to see! Finally back together! ????????” another user wrote.
As Hearties know, Krakow and Lissing were both original cast members on When Calls the Heart when the TV series premiered in 2014. Krakow plays Elizabeth Thatcher Thorton, a young teacher from the city who moves to Hope Valley to take a new job, while Lissing played Jack Thornton, a Mountie who’s assigned to Hope Valley (previously named Coal Valley).
Jack and Elizabeth start dating in Season 1, get engaged in Season 4, and marry in Season 5. However, before they can live happily ever after, Jack dies in Season 5’s finale, “Close to My Heart,” when he’s killed in a landslide while on a training mission in Fort Clay.

News broke of Krakow and Lissing’s first on-screen reunion since Jack’s death in 2018 at the Television Critics Association press tour in February 2024. “I’m very excited. It’s such a fantastic script. It’s so fun. There’s a lot of magical elements and reuniting with Dan was great. We hadn’t worked together in, obviously, many years, and that was just so lovely. I’m excited to get to share it with the fans,” Krakow told Soaps.com in June 2024 about the movie.
Santa Tell Me premieres on Hallmark Channel on November 9 at 8 p.m.
