Heart's Ann Wilson Reveals Her Cancer Diagnosis and Tour Postponement: Inside Her Treatment
In the midst of Heart’s Royal Flush tour, lead singer Ann Wilson, 74, has announced she is undergoing treatment for cancer and the remaining dates of their tour have been postponed while she focuses on her health and recovery.
In a statement shared to her social media on July 2, the singer explained that after undergoing a recent successful operation to remove a growth that, ultimately, turned out to be cancerous, her doctors have advised her to go forward with preventative chemotherapy.

That being said, it is according to their advice and instruction that the rock and roll icon has decided to step away from the stage for the time being to recover for the remainder of the year.
The statement continued: “To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.”
Wilson concluded her statement with one wish: “Respectfully, this is the last public statement l’d like to make on the matter.”
In addition to taking to the stage on their own, the group also had plans to join forces with Journey and Def Leppard at a series of dates kicking off on July 6.

Luckily, she confirmed that the break from touring is nothing more than a temporary pause.
Who is Heart?
Heart is an American rock band, whose core members consist of Ann Wilson, known for her powerhouse vocals that have given the group their distinct sound, as well as her sister, Nancy Wilson. The group has found immense success over the years. You may know them for songs like “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” “Crazy On You,” “Alone,” “What About Love” and so much more.

In 2013, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2023, received a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Recording Academy.
Heart postponed tour dates in the past
Back in May, Ann took to social media to announce a cancellation for their shows as part of the European leg of their tour due to a procedure she had done.
“We regret to inform you that all upcoming Heart performances in Europe are canceled,” the post began.
“In late May, Ann Wilson will undergo a time sensitive but routine medical procedure for which the minimum recovery time is six weeks. Heart deeply regrets this unfortunate circumstance and hopes to return to Europe soon.”
Ann’s caption on the post read, “I’m okay! Please don’t worry. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It’s certainly an inconvenience for me. Love & respect always, Ann.”
