Zazie Beetz is toplining They Will Kill You, which is described as a horror feature laced with black humor. It tells the story of a woman (Beetz) who answers a help wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious New York City high-rise, not realizing she is entering a community that has seen a number of disappearances over the years. The project has been described as being a tonal mix of Ready or Not and The Raid.
Graham’s role is being kept in the basement, but she joins Oscar winner Patricia Arquette and Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, on the list of tenants.
Sokolov and Alex Litvak wrote the script.
David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce via Skydance along with the Muschiettis and Dan Kagan (Longlegs).
Executive producing are Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder, who oversee Nocturna, along with Sokolov, Litvak and Carl Hampe.
Graham has had a long and varied career, but her resume doesn’t contain too many horror movies. She did, however, star in two scary movies last year, among them Joe Lynch’s Suitable Flesh.
She next stars in Western Place of Bones, which will hit select theaters and PVOD platforms Aug. 23, followed by Chosen Family, a comedic drama that she also wrote and directed. Brainstorm Media picked up the movie for distribution on Family, which made its debut at the 2024 Santa Barbara Film Festival, will be released in theaters Oct. 11.
Graham is repped by Paradigm, RMS Production, and Morris Yorn.
