Heather Rae & Tarek El Moussa Won’t Be Letting Christina Hall’s Divorce Interrupt Their HGTV Show
The show must go on… even if it’s going to look a bit different than it was originally designed. Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa, along with Christina Hall, aren’t going to let a Hollywood divorce get in the way of their new HGTV show, The Flip Off. The series was scheduled to include Christina’s estranged husband, Josh Hall, along with her first ex-husband and his current wife, but those plans have now changed after he filed for divorce on Monday, July 15.
“They are in production of The Flip Off without Josh,” a show insider told Us Weekly. “They’re moving forward with the show without him.” While sources close to the Halls told People that the duo “had issues in the marriage for quite some time,” it seems that the split came on suddenly and at the start of production for the home renovation show. Christina gave hints that things might not have been so rosy behind the scenes after he started disappearing from her Instagram timeline and her curious interview with Us Weekly on July 2.

“I’m used to being the boss of everything, especially when it comes to design. So, it’s just like this is a whole new dynamic for us and it’s gonna be interesting how it plays out,” she laughed. “Bickering on camera is not necessarily full reality, it’s like a character. So, there’s just so much conversation and dynamics and things that have to be talked about on and off-camera. I mean, it is challenging to work with your spouse, especially if they’re not used to being on TV.”
Christina also revealed that she and Josh “have filmed together so far” while adding, “We actually haven’t filmed together with Tarek and Heather yet, so I can’t really say that I know what that looks like.” That little morsel might mean that Christina and HGTV will have to reshoot a few scenes since it sounds like Josh has completely exited the project. However, viewers will see him on the current season of Christina on the Coast which began airing on July 11.
“You see him pop up in here and there, but he doesn’t take [on] a big role,” she noted. “So, he is more involved when we’re flipping houses in Tennessee.” It sounds like Josh’s TV career was short-lived since their split changed the TV production midstream, and Christina, Tarek, and Heather are moving ahead without him.
