Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt is coming to Kodak Center, 200 W. Ridge Road, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, for a screening of “Twister,” which will be followed by an onstage interview, where she will share behind-the-scenes stories and take audience questions.

“Twister,” which co-starred Fairport native Philip Seymour Hoffman as Dusty Davis, was the second highest-grossing release of 1996 (“Independence Day” was No. 1) and spawned the current box-office smash “Twisters.”

Hunt may be best known for playing Jamie Buchman on the hit NBC sitcom “Mad About You” (1992 to ’99) for which she won four Primetime Emmy Awards for lead actress in a comedy series. Her work in the 1997 movie “As Good as It Gets” as struggling single mom and waitress Carol Connelly won her an Oscar for best actress in a leading role.

The Glendale, California, native also was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for her role as a sex surrogate in “The Sessions” (2012). Recently, Hunt returned to her sitcom roots with a part as a cutthroat TV network honcho on Season 3 of the acclaimed Max series “Hacks.”
