Blue Team: Anthony, Brandon, Egypt, Joe, Kyle, Lulu
Red Team: Amanda, Ann Marie, Brittany, Hannah, Whit
After Gordon Ramsay eliminated Meghan last week, some members of the Red Team have regrets, wishing Ann Marie had gone instead. Amanda, in particular, feels guilty, saying it was her mistake that sent Meghan home. Whit tells. Amanda she has until midnight to mope around, but no more tears after that. Speaking of tears, Anthony shares he was diagnosed with oral cancer when he was just 22 years old. After he went into remission, the cancer came back stronger. He’s now cancer free, but it was a long journey back to health.
The next morning the chefs head back down to the kitchen for their next challenge. They’ll play “Secret Ingredient” to test their proficiency with words. Each team has been assigned three proteins (airline chicken, cod, and pork chops) and they compete for ingredients to assign to each one. Once all the ingredients are picked, the teams get to work on their meals.
Gordon tastes every dish and decides if they deserve a point or not. The team with the most points wins today’s challenge. Because the Blue Team has an extra member, they drop one dish — Egypt’s pork chop. He’s obviously furious, saying they should have dropped Lulu’s chicken instead. Here’s how each team member scored:
BLUE TEAM
Brandon – 0
Joe – 1
Lulu – 0
Kyle – 1
Anthony – 0
RED TEAM
Hannah – 1
Amanda – 0
Brittany – 1
Whit – 1
Ann Marie – 0
The Red Team wins this challenge by a score of 3-2. Then, Gordon tastes Egypt’s dish and tells the Blue Team they made a huge mistake. The Blue Team may not care for Egypt, but Gordon definitely has a soft spot for him. The Red Team heads to Foxwood’s “Smash Avenue” and they’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at a new supper club. The Blue Team will sift through trash and separate compost, recycling, and waste.
Later that night, Gordon reveals Hell’s Kitchen is closed for dinner service. Instead, five chefs will be cooking for their lives. Those chefs are the ones who didn’t score a point in today’s challenge: Amanda. Lulu, Anthony, Ann Marie and Brandon. He spares Egypt, who he would have given a point if given the chance.
For tonight’s competition, the chefs each make a lobster dish. Gordon tastes each dish and saves them in the following order: Brandon, Lulu, Amanda, and Ann Marie. That means Anthony has been eliminated. Gordon closes out the show saying, “Anthony had a heart of gold, but I need a head chef with a golden touch, and he just doesn’t have it yet.”
