Here's the complete Light of Day 2024 schedule in Asbury Park, Red Bank, New York

Greetings from “Raspberry Park.”

The Weeklings’ “Raspberry Park” album release show — with performances by Joe Grushecky & the Houserockers, Dramarama and more — on Friday, Jan. 24, at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park is part of the 2024 Light of Day WinterFest, which raises funds in the fight against Parkinson's and related diseases.

Nearly 30 shows in Asbury Park, Red Bank, Montclair and New York City Jan. 12 to 27 were announced on Monday, Dec. 4.

“Bob’s Birthday Bash” — headlined by Max Weinberg’s Jukebox on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Count Basie Center’s Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre in Red Bank — was previously announced. Tickets, $59.50 to $425.50, are on sale via thebasie.org. More performers for Bob’s Birthday Bash will be announced.

Prices for other LOD shows range from free to $30 for club shows, more for theater concerts.

The roots of the Light of Day go back to a 1998 birthday show for Bob Benjamin at the Downtown Cafe in Red Bank. The artist-manager had been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's, a progressive neurological disorder that affects nearly 1 million people in the United States and over 10 million worldwide, according to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Light of Day events take place in the United States, Canada and Europe, and more than $6.5 million has been raised for the cause by the group. The Light of Day allocates funds to research groups, and operates programs like Boxing for Bob, which is free to people with Parkinson’s in area gyms.

Bruce Springsteen is a supporter. The Boss has performed at 12 of the previous 23 Light of Days, all unannounced.

More than 125 musicians will be participating in this year's Light of Day.

“We're doing it because we have to,” said Light of Day executive director Tony Pallagrosi on Monday. “Parkinson's, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), and PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) are still intrinsically part of too many people's lives on a daily basis. Twenty four years ago we made a commitment to stay the course until those diseases no longer exists, and that's not the case and here we are.”
