Here's what your favorite 'Longmire' stars are up to in 2024-25
NEW YORK, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- The contemporary TV western Longmire may be finished filming for the foreseeable future, but several of its former cast members have exciting new projects coming out during the 2024-25 entertainment season.
Here's where to find them.
Robert Taylor (Sheriff Walt Longmire)
Taylor will star in two new shows this fall.
He will play Jackson Gibbs, the father of Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell), in NCIS: Origins, a military investigative drama set in 1991 and premiering on CBS Oct. 14.
Gibbs is the character Mark Harmon played on NCIS for 19 seasons.
Taylor will also star in the Australian western, Territory, premiering on Netflix Oct. 24.
It co-stars Joe Pickett alum Michael Dorman and Last of Us actress Anna Torv.
Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry Standing Bear)
Phillips has the horror movie, Werewolves, coming out on Dec. 6.
He has also said he hopes to return for a third Young Guns movie, based on script penned by his longtime friend and former co-star Emilio Estevez.
Phillips has been doing some writing himself.
His novel, The Tinderbox: Underground Movement, is set to be published in November.
Zahn McClarnon (Tribal Police Chief Matthias) and A. Martinez (Jacob Nighthorse)
The former co-stars have reunited for the 1970s-set crime drama, Dark Winds, based on Tony Hillerman's books.
McClarnon plays Tribal Police Chief Joe Leaphorn and Martinez plays Scarborough Police Department Acting Chief Gordo Sena in the series.
Season 3 is set to premiere in 2025 on AMC.
In the meantime, Martinez also can be seen in the INSP's Blue Ridge, a series follow-up to the 2020 North Carolina action movie of the same name.
Cassidy Freeman (Cady Longmire)
Freeman will reprise her role of Amber Gemstone, an Olympic markswoman who marries into a family of wealthy televangelists on HBO's The Righteous Gemstones.
Filming on the fourth season began in South Carolina in May.
No specific return date has been announced yet.
Katee Sackhoff (Vic Moretti)
Sackhoff, who recently gave birth to her second child, starred as Bo-Katan Kryze in the Disney+ live-action sci-fi drama, The Mandalorian, after Longmire.
Both a fourth season of The Mandalorian and a big-screen follow-up movie are in the works.
She also lent her voice to the role of Laurie Juspeczyk/Jupiter in two animated Watchmen movies, the second of which is set for release in 2025, and hosts the podcast, The Sackhoff Show.
Craig Johnson (Author of the books that inspired the TV show)
Johnson once again hosted the Longmire Days festival for fans of his books and the TV show it inspired in Wyoming this summer.
Taylor and Martinez appeared alongside their former cast mates Louanne Stephens, John Bishop and Derek Phillips.
He released a new Walt Longmire mystery called First Frost in May.
His next book Tooth and Claw is set for release Nov. 19.
The TV version of Longmire aired 2012 to 2017 and remains popular in reruns.
Johnson, fans and cast members continue to campaign for new episodes of the series to be made, but, so far, no revival is officially being planned.
