Here's Everything You Need To Know About "Time Bandits" Before Watching
If you've ever seen the 1981 adventure-comedy Time Bandits, starring John Cleese, Sean Connery, and Shelley Duvall...
Then you might be excited to hear that Apple TV+ has a new Time Bandits series (created by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement) that is equal parts hilarious and heartwarming. (Seriously, it's my favorite show on TV right now.)
The series follows a gang of thieves who travel through time trying to steal artifacts from history. But things get a little complicated when a portal opens up in the room of an 11-year-old history nerd named Kevin.
We've got you covered if you're wondering who's who in the new Apple TV+ show. Here's your guide to the entire cast:
Lisa Kudrow as Penelope
She plays the self-elected unofficial leader of the group of bandits.
You probably know here from... pretty much everything??? She's a comedy icon who's been in everything from Friends to The Comeback to Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.
Taika Waititi as Supreme Being
He plays the Supreme Being, who's looking to get his very important map back from the Time Bandits.
You probably know him from... also everything!! His notable projects include Our Flag Means Death, What We Do in the Shadows, Jojo Rabbit, and the Thor films.
Jemaine Clement as Pure Evil
He plays the enemy of the Supreme Being and wants to steal the map before he can.
You probably know him from things like his hilarious comedies Flight of the Conchords and What We Do in the Shadows.
Kal-El Tuck as Kevin
He plays the 11-year-old outcast (and history nerd) who accidentally joins the Time Bandits.
This is actually Kal-El's first major project! He previously appeared in a couple of short films and an episode of Andy and the Band.
Charlyne Yi as Judy
She plays one of the thieves who says she's a "beginner empath."
You might recognize her from Knocked Up, This is 40, House, and Steven Universe.
Roger Jean Nsengiyumva as Widgit
He plays the bandit who's in charge of the "map of time and space"...but he's not very good at reading it.
You might recognize Nsengiyumva (pictured right) from Tomb Raider (2018), You Don't Know Me, or Africa United.
Tadhg Murphy as Alto
He's the thespian of the group of bandits and uses his skills to get the group out of precarious situations.
You might recognize him from Vikings, Black Sails, How to Build a Girl, or Conversations with Friends.
And Rume Temte as Bittelig
He plays the one in the group who is as strong as "seven average-strength men."
You might recognize him from The Last Kingdom, Captain Marvel, or The Swarm.
