Here's when to see free shows this summer on the Asbury Park boardwalk
Let the music play — for free
Ten free shows have been announced for the 2024 Asbury Park Live series, which takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays at the First Avenue Green on the boardwalk, next to the Mogo Korean Fusion Tacos stand.
The talent is local and up-and coming, including Teen Idle, who offers a smart brand of alluring indie rock; Chill Smith, the hip-hop conscious of the Jersey Shore; and Pamela Flores, the singer-songwriter who's cooking up some new collabs.
Each show is opened by a youth band from the city's Lakehouse Music Academy.
In case of inclement weather, the shows move inside to Watermark, which is next door. The shows are presented by the Asbury Park Music Foundation and raises funds, via sponsorships and collected monies, to provide music scholarships to under-served youth throughout the Asbury Park area.
