HGTV Will Premiere 'Zillow Gone Wild' This May And We Can't Wait
Vote for the 'wildest house' for a chance to win $25,000.
If you love to gawk at the interior of wacky homes and wonder what the owners could have been thinking, HGTV is launching a new show just for you that premieres on May 3.
Zillow Gone Wild is named after the very popular Instagram account, which has almost 2 million followers who can't help but peek at surrealistic murals, model-train rooms, and basement dungeons in real-life homes that are on the market. The new show will allow us to tour these captivating houses with host Jack McBrayer, the actor and comedian you may remember as Kenneth in 30 Rock or from Hello Jack! The Kindness Show on Apple TV (he also has a role in Jerry Seinfeld's upcoming movie Unfrosted.)
A statement from HGTV says that Zillow Gone Wild will "crisscross the country" to find houses that show off the unique tastes of their owners, such as a Berkeley, California, home designed by a jazz musician with "wall-to-wall gold accents" and a "pair of gold saxophone exterior columns." Each 30-minute episode will feature three of these unique finds and the backstories of their owners.
Of course, the original @zillowgonewild wouldn't be nearly as fun if we couldn't read all the comments. HGTV also will let viewers chime in, but with votes for the "wildest house" instead. Those who pick the winning property after the finalists air on June 21 will get a chance to win $25,000. The premiere of Zillow Gone Wild airs on HGTV on Friday, May 3, at 10:30 p.m. ET and also will be available for streaming on Max.
