Hightown is the latest series to get the ax at Starz. The cabler recently cleaned house and canceled Blindspotting, Heels and Run the World after two seasons each and dropped The Venery of Samantha Bird with only two episodes left to produce.
The conclusion of Hightown leaves Starz with a roster of originals that includes Black Mafia Family, Outlander, P-Valley, the Power franchise and Shining Vale. Raymund (Chicago Fire) stars alongside James Badge Dale, Riley Voelkel, Amaury Nolasco, Atkins Estimond and Dohn Norwood. Cutter created the series and exec produces alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed from Jerry Bruckheimer Television; Ellen H. Schwartz, Gary Lennon and Tim Walsh. Hightown is produced in-house by Lionsgate Television.
The TV industry is now in an era in which cable networks, broadcasters and streamers alike are tightening their belts after the peak TV bubble burst earlier this year.
