Historic shoot-out at Frontier Texas!
Watch history come alive every Saturday in June and witness the historic Pine Street shoot-out of 1884 in person.
If you loved the drama of the hit series "1883," you will love this reenactment of a Western shoot-out. This outdoor event is free.
According to Frontier Texas, this historical drama is based on the true events of the Abilene Pine Street shoot-outof 1884 that occurred on the northeast corner of North First and Pine Street.
Prepare to be immersed "in the drama and excitement of what it might have been like to witness the shoot-out just a few years after Abilene was founded," according to a media release.
In the late 1800s, Abilene had begun the transition from an outlaw town to "a more law-abiding town to appeal to the many railroad travelers." This progress in turn "caused tension amongst the townspeople, lawmen, and leaders," and ultimately led to the historic shoot-out.

Following the drama, families can meet and interact with the characters and hear a little bit about the history of the 1884 Pine Street shoot-out.
