Hoda & Jenna debut new theme song by Meghan Trainor — take a listen

A new era for TODAY with Hoda & Jenna has arrived.

On Sept. 4, the show unveiled a bubbly and feel-good new opening, featuring a song performed by Meghan Trainor, who wrote the track with her brother Justin Trainor.

“You better start today/ Hoda and Jenna, Hoda and Jenna/ It’s the only way,” the song’s lyrics say. “They make you feel like everything’s OK/ And put a smile up on your face/ Let’s celebrate/ Hoda and Jenna.”

As the song plays, we see fourth hour co-host Hoda Kotb in a red dress, superimposed over a crowd at the plaza at 30 Rock, while co-host Jenna Bush Hager wears a purple outfit, holds books and is surrounded by cowboy hats in a nod to her Texas roots.

The pair then come together to make a heart with their hands, while Hoda also flashes a big smile as she holds a parasol in New Orleans colors — in honor of one of her favorite cities. Jenna also puts her arm around Hoda, as lipstick marks cover the screen. Jenna then applies lip gloss before she and Hoda hold coffee mugs and the show’s logo appears on the screen as the opening draws to a close.

Hoda and Jenna have co-hosted the fourth hour of TODAY since 2019, and this new souped-up opening is the first since 2022.

“This is all new,” Hoda said when that opening debuted. “We are rebooting, resetting, rejuvenating, all the re-stuff. We’ve been waiting for this day for a long, long time and we’re just happy that we’re together, we’re happy you’re with us.”
