Hoda Kotb Dubbed the ‘Real Deal’ With Quick Fix to ‘Wardrobe Malfunction’

Hoda Kotb caught an issue with her dress before it unraveled into an embarrassing on-air moment during her coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Today co-anchor shared a behind-the-scenes moment with fans on Instagram that showed her as she smoothly handled the literal wardrobe malfunction with speed, class and charm–leading fans to label her the "real deal."

In the clip, Kotb is seen rocking an elegant yellow dress with a surprise issue, although it's unclear if there was a tear in the seam, a rip, or something else that needed adjustment. With little around them to fix the situation, Kotb and producer Kaitlin Vickery quickly found a stapler that did the trick.

"Done! Kaitlin to the rescue!" Kotb exclaimed as they exchanged high-fives. The media personality doubled down on the solution in her caption, writing: "Wardrobe malfunction— nothing that a stapler cant fix! Thx @kaitlinvictory."

Fans loved the innovative quick fix, with people writing in the comments, "Genius!??," "Great hack," and "I like the way you think lady! ???? @hodakotb."

Another said to Vickery, "gold medal for you."

Many praised Kotb and her down-to-earth personality, such as one who replied, "She is the real deal. Love her spirit," while someone else added, "The most realistic person! Love this!!"

Others chimed in, "Would have never thought. New hack," and "Getting it done! Show must go on ????."

The fix was right in time, as soon after, Kotb met up with "Pommel Horse Guy" Stephen Nedoroscik for a sweet photo together. Today shared the final snap, writing, "just two icons swapping glasses ????," with the proud Olympian holding up his new medal as they smiled at the camera.

Kotb has been bringing fans along as she continues to report on the Paris Olympics, with her fellow Today stars, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Craig Melvin, by her side. Fans have particularly loved Kotb's great positivity as the 59-year-old cheered on the U.S. team.
