When TODAY co-host Shenielle Jones sat in for Jenna Bush Hager Monday morning, she was not going to let Hoda Kotb censor herself.

When Hoda began telling a story and stopped, Sheinelle said, "No, you cannot do that. When would that ever work? In what matrix could Hoda go, 'You know what? Never mind.' Where?"

Looking reluctant, Hoda began to tell the story of visiting her friend's private backyard pool with daughters Haley, 7, and Hope, 5.

"Me, and my girls and my best friend ... we SKINNY-DIPPED!" Hoda shouted, clapping along with the last two syllables.

"It was so fun! My kids were screaming!" she continued, all embarrassment gone. "They were shrieking with delight. Shrieking!"

"Time out! There's too many things happening in my mind. I have to calm my mind," said Sheinelle. "You went skinny-dipping with your children?"

"Yeah. Yeah," said Hoda. "One of my dear friends ... her husband, who was barbecuing, was like this ... " she said as she held up cue cards to mimic him shielding his eyes. "He literally had a paper plate he was holding up. We were screaming."

Trying to make sense of everything, Sheinelle said, "I'm just saying, like, the husband's on the grill and y'all are just frolicking in the water?"

"Have you ever done it?" Hoda asked Sheinelle.

"No," said Sheinelle, somehow looking both ashamed and ever-so-slightly judgmental at the same time.

"Not once?"

"No."

Hoda laughed and continued, "I said to my kids, 'This is our day.' The towels were right there. We were running inside screaming the whole time. It was so fun."

"Just tell them there's a time and a place," said Sheinelle, seemingly worried that Hoda's children may decide to skinny dip in at a public waterpark.

In the end, Sheinelle admired Hoda's spirited swim and concluded sincerely, "You're such a good mom."
